'Our Day Out' captures the essence of a family day out. Drawing inspiration from a selection of images from the Keith Medley Photographic Archive, at Liverpool John Moores University.
Initially workshops were organised with volunteers who used the archive as memory aids for stories relating to family days out at the seaside resort of New Brighton, across the River Mersey from Liverpool. During the early 60s the resort was a favourite destination for day trippers arriving by ferry from the cities Pier Head.
Our Day Out is also keen for further contributions from across the region to help build a rich archive of stories and memories from the
mid 1960s and beyond. If you have a story to tell we would like to
hear from you.
